Lately, whenever I turn on my radio when I’m driving, there’s a song that always catches my attention. Nowadays, I just turn the radio on to have something to fill up the silence, you know? I mean, I do enjoy the music, but it’s not like every popular song has meaningful or deep lyrics that are relatable, after all. But on this song, there’s this part that always makes me stop for a second and think:
What do you do when a chapter ends? Do you close the book and never read it again? Where do you go when your story’s done? You can be who you were or who you’ve become
It’s quite deep, actually. Specially because, when I searched for more info on the song cause I really liked it, I discovered that the singer’s mom had just died from leukemia, and that made me take on a whole new approach to the lyrics. The song’s called “Just hold on”, why don’t you listen to it first so that you can have your own opinion on it? And regardless of the song genre or the artists, just focus on the lyrics.
It’s not over ’til it’s all been said, it’s not over ’til your dying breath. So what do you want them to say when you’re gone? That you gave up or that you kept going on?
I really like this type of songs that don’t talk about sex or drugs or love… it’s important that we can find strength whenever we are feeling down through things we like and enjoy.
